Australia is located in the Asian region. By 2020 three of the world’s four largest economies will be in Asian countries. The Asian region’s economies will be larger than those of the United States and Europe combined. Right now, three of the top four of our trading partners are Asian countries. The fastest growing non-Anglo segments of our population are people with backgrounds in China and India and more than one million Australians speak an Asian language when they’re at home.
There are strong employment opportunities for Australians who have the skills for working with people from Asian backgrounds, both now and in the future.
